MARRIED CATHOLIC PRIEST: Meet Kevin Robinson, the priest of Our Ladye Star of the Sea Greenwich

Father Kevin Robinson, a Catholic Priest at the Church of Our Ladye of Star the Sea in Greenwich, is a straight talking priest who, during lockdown, allowed me to interview for a film I was making. Full of humour, his mum described him as 'rebellious'.

He took me around the large church that sits on the top of the large hill in Greenwich and looks down over the growing city. Here it is calm though.

In his Jethro Tull t-shirt and waistcoat, Father Kevin talked about how sad it was to have to close the doors to his congregation during the lockdown, whilst acknowledging the need to stop the spread of the virus. His worry was that he could not fulfil his duties given to him by Jesus.

Kevin is rare, being a married Roman Catholic Priest, having converted from the Church of England.

During the pandemic, Kevin started to host his congregation through live streams, and I filmed a service he was delivering.

This was filmed in 2020, 3 months after the pandemic really took charge of the country. It's easy to forget just how unsure the world about getting back to normal. No-one knew if this pandemic would be over any time soon.

In June, there was talk about places of worship opening up with limited congregation and it was unlikely that singing would be allowed as this spread the virus faster.
