Most cats run in fear at the sight of a bath, but this feline feels most at home when taking to the waves.
Captain Cooper sails with his owner, sailboat charter captain Stephanie Mansberger, 25, up and down the east coast of America.
When on board, the two-year-old Bengal enjoys playing tag on deck, chasing birds off the rigging, or helping to ‘teach’ knots to Stephanie with the ropes on the deck.
Not that Cooper often needs attention. Along with his teaching tasks, he entertains himself by exploring the small spaces in the engine room, and at night he’s up with the stars helping to keep watch and navigate.
In total, his naval career has seen him cover almost 7,000 nautical miles, and travel from the warm beaches of Miami to the rockier coasts of North Carolina.
He plays the role of a pirate’s parrot, sitting on Stephanie’s shoulder.
