Bahula Sati Peeth is one of the Ekan Peeths

Bahula Sati Peeth is one of the 51 Sati Peeths. This Satipeeth, belonging to Ketugram police station of East Burdwan district, is a place of worship for the people of the Hindu community. Sati's left arm i.e. left hand fell here. It is said in the Puranas that during the Dakshayagna, Sati could not bear the humiliation of Lord Shiva and left her body at that place. After hearing this news, Mahadev took Sati's body in his arms and started the rampage, when Narayana left Sudarshan Chakra and dismembered Sati's body. A Sati Peetha has been built at each place where Sati's body fell. Bahula is one of the satipeeth of that peeth. Puja is performed here every day for two hours, the temple opens at five in the morning and closes at eight at night with the evening aarti. At 12' o clock the mother is offered Bhog, which includes non-vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. During Durga Puja, puja is performed here with great fanfare. Buffalo sacrifice is a traditional practice here. Buffalo is sacrificed here on Durga Navami. Besides, after Pathabli on Saptami, mother's puja starts. Mahadeva is here referred to as Viruk i.e. one who is at the highest level of Sadhana with Kartik on one side of the mother and Ganesha on the other. The 6 feet hard stone idol is mesmerizing.
