2023 Ford Edge L SUV in-depth Walkaround

Ford boasts an impressive lineup of crossovers and SUVs, including the popular Ford Edge in the US market. While the MY2023 Edge in North America shares design elements with the Ford EcoSport, the new generation Edge launched in China is a different product altogether. This larger SUV boasts a third row of seating and significantly different dimensions compared to its US counterpart. The Edge L measures 5,000mm long, 1,961mm wide, and 1,773mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm. Despite being slightly taller than Everest, it remains a substantial crossover.

Under the hood, the Edge L offers a choice of a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine or a turbo-hybrid option that uses the same mill. The non-hybrid version generates 249hp and 378Nm of torque, while the hybrid delivers 271hp and 405Nm of torque. Ford claims a fuel efficiency of 16.4 kilometers per liter under mixed driving conditions, with an impressive range of 1,188 kilometers between fill-ups.

Inside, the Edge L features a massive 27-inch touchscreen that spans from the dashboard's center to the passenger side. The driver also enjoys a 12.3-inch digital cluster. Most controls are through the screens, with buttons kept to a minimum. With these features and specifications, the new Ford Edge L certainly stands out as a formidable addition to Ford's SUV lineup.
