Meet Sagar, a 27-year-old whose weight struggles are all too familiar. Like many Indian men, he battles health issues, confidence dips, and the social stigma that comes with being overweight. Experts warn of obesity’s long-term risks: every 10 kg of excess weight can shave off three years of life. This problem isn’t limited to Sagar—across India, obesity among men is rising fast, impacting everything from daily activities to self-esteem and even relationships.
We spoke to five men—some struggling with obesity, others who’ve overcome it— to understand why Indian men are gaining weight. We found an important difference between the fit and the unfit men. What is it? Let's find out in this video.
