장안동은 중랑천을 동쪽에 끼고 있으며, 조선시대에는 ‘장한벌’ 또는 ‘장한평’이라 부른데서 동명이 유래되었다. 장한벌은 송정동과 답십리 사이에 있었던 벌판으로, 조선시대 군마의 방목장이자 기마훈련장이었다. 이에 따라 ‘마장안벌’이라 하던 것이 ‘장안벌’로 줄여지고 이 명칭이 ‘장안벌’ 또는 ‘장한벌’이라 불리게 되었다.

Jangan-dong is situated in Dongdaemun-gu in East-Central Seoul. It is a rapidly modernizing neighborhood with an old city feel. By day, it is a bustling residential area of Seoul with several apartment complexes visible, including those built by Hillstate, SM, Samsung Ramien, and Hyundai. By night, Jangan-dong's main street lights up with a plethora of Korean-style and American style bars, motels, nightclubs, restaurants. Jangan-dong is an affordable area to live, and can be considered attractive for its centralized location and quick transportation into the heart of Gangnam or Dongdaemun.

【Channel introduction(채널 소개) - “Season 2”】

▶ Hello, Thank you for visiting the "Seoul Town Walk" channel.
This channel is a channel that shows the images taken while walking through streets and attractions in Seoul.

The rest, to the “Subway stations”, I will occasionally go to transfer stations mainly,
also to “Markets” and “Attractions”, I plan to go occasionally only in active places.

이 채널은 서울의 거리와 명소를 걸으면서 촬영한 영상을 보여주는 채널입니다.

►이제는 “시즌2”로 들어가서, 주로 “골목” 위주로 큰 거리와 조화롭게 다녀보려 합니다.

“시장”과 “명소”도 가끔씩 활성화된 곳 정도만 다닐 생각입니다.
