On 9th September 2017, a 10-month old chimp was confiscated from a wildlife trafficker who had been trying to sell him as a pet. The man had killed the baby's mother. The orphaned baby was brought to Mefou Sanctuary where he will be rehabilitated and integrated into a chipanzee social group.
