According to the aesthetics wiki, "Cutecore" (also known as Cutegore) is an online aesthetic focusing on image edits that combine typical kawaii imagery with slight traces of gore. Characters are often depicted with wounds, blood splatters, glitches, pixelations, and otherwise horrific motifs. The key motifs involve mixing cutesy and kawaii content with eerie or creepy content. This aesthetic is also considered a coping mechanism to many in the community.
