Neometals Ltd. is an Australian mineral development company, involved in the recovery of a large array of battery metals including lithium, titanium and vanadium. The company’s core projects consist of its lithium-ion battery recycling process in Germany, its Barrambie titanium and vanadium project in Western Australia and its vanadium recovery project in Scandinavia.

The company on the 23rd of September 2022 released its annual operational and financial report. The key achievements of the company in the financial year (FY) 2022 include the permitting, construction, commissioning and operation of its lithium-ion battery recycling demonstration plant in Hilchenbach Germany. The investment decision made to increase the throughput of the Primobius demonstration plant to allow commercial shredding and beneficiation is also one of the company’s highlights for the past year. The signing of a binding cooperation agreement with Licular GmbH, a Mercedes-Benz subsidiary, for the engineering, equipment supply and installation of a 10 tpd spoke and hydrometallurgical refinery plant in Kuppenheim, Germany, is also a milestone achieved in FY 2022.

The company aims to have its commercial battery recovery plants operational by 2024 and is currently focused on the construction, execution and commissioning of its projects. Neometals Ltd. will upon the successful execution of its current core projects commence with researching the viability and implementation of larger recycling plants. The company believes that it is at an ideal point of the cost curve for investment. The company has not raised funds in more than 10 years but may go to the market to enable the construction of its envisioned operations. Neometals Ltd. believes that it is well positioned to play an integral part in the European battery material market.
