Also, you could think of them as basic - we know emotions are the same across all cultures. For example, if we look at the model that has six basic emotions: anger, fear, disgust, happiness, sadness, and surprise - all six of those emotions exist everywhere in the world. Feelings are a little bit different. Feelings are emotions that have been processed cognitively, so there are a lot of potential names for feelings because there are a lot more types of feelings than there are emotions. Feelings can be complex because they can have a number of emotions that work in them and they can also have other factors like thoughts.
