Bixpy Installations - Foot Pedal Steering System

This is a video to demonstrate the installation of the Bixpy Foot Pedal Steering System. This is a sliding foot steering mechanism to allow you steering ability for your Universal Kayak & Canoe or Universal Rudder WillFit™ adapters. This kit is not included with your motor mount adapters and needs to be purchased separately if your kayak is not already equipped with a steering system. This kit can also be used as a rudder steering system without a motor if desired.

The kayak used for installation is a Wilderness Tarpon 120. The Tarpon 120 already has two inserts for the installation of a rudder adapter. So we used one of our Bixpy gudgeons (https://bixpy.com/bixpy-simple-gudgeon/) to allow for the rudder installation.

The rudder adapter (also known as a gudgeon) is a 10mm (3/8") adapter that is common on many kayaks that allow for rudder installation.

If your kayak doesn't have pre-drill inserts and holes to install a rudder adapter (gudgeon), or if you want a more sturdy adapter, you can use our larger gudgeon
