What are V/Line’s N Cars doing in South Australia???

V/line’s N Type carriages have been operating across Victoria since the 1980s, forming the backbone of the state’s regional rail services. However, as newer V/Locity multiple units enter service and make the locomotive hauled stock, like the N cars, obsolete, they have been sent to different operators, and one set has even ended up in South Australia. The question is, what are the N cars and why is a set in South Australia?
