Massive Torrance 3+ Alarm: Border Incident

On 11.28.22, the Torrance Fire Dept. was dispatched to an address near Border Ave. x W 218th St for a reported structure fire. As FS1 companies began responding a large plume of smoke could be seen, prompting an automatic second alarm. As companies began arriving on scene, it was reported to be a 1 story commercial operating as an auto body shop with heavy smoke showing. E97 took fire attack, Truck 91 went to the roof, and E91 went to the Charlie side. Second alarm resources began arriving as fire began coming through the roof, prompting a transitional mode. LACo.FD FS36 also put themselves on a smoke investigation and began assisting as well. Ultimately, a 3rd alarm along with RDB, MHB, and ELS resources assisting with the fire and station coverage. Knockdown was achieved less than 2 hours after the initial callers. No injuries were reported.
