This is a tutorial on LibreOffice covering, LibreOffice Calc, subtotals and the CountIF function. The tutor starts off by explaining how subtotals work in LibreOffice Calc. The tutor mentions that the column used for subtotals must be sorted. The tutor covers the downside to subtotals, mentioning that if any new items are added to the list, subtotals must be removed. Once the subtotals have been removed the new items are added and re-sorted then subtotals reapplied. The CountIF function on the other hand returns the correct information no matter how many records are added to a list. The tutor uses a named range within the CountIF function and creates a small chart to visually represent the data.
