In November of 2002, Premiere Ernie Eves, capped electricity prices at below market rates and prevented households from having their power terminated for non payment for the entire winter. Low income households and particularly those heating with electric heat racked up massive energy bills over the entire winter. Share the Warmth was one of the few places low income households could go for help to keep their power on and stave off eviction.
