Weathering a Steam Locomotive - Bachmann Ivatt 2MT Tank Engine

This week I weathered my Bachmann Ivatt 2MT tank engine. As usual, I opted for Tamiya paints, Humbrol weathering powders and used my Iwata airbrush.

I tried to give this locomotive a used but relatively well cared for appearance.

1 - Overall spray of black/grey, rotating wheels with a battery to ensure they’re covered.
2 - Brown/rust added to cylinders
3 - Smoke weathering powder added to smokebox
4 - rust/brown weathering powder added to cylinders
5 - white weathering powder highlighting raised areas
6 - wheels cleaned
7 - coal added to tender

I’ll also give this a coat of Halfords Matt Laquer to some point to seal it all.
