Tenore: …and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. (Luke 10:38)
Alto: – And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD… (Ps.35:9)
Tenore e Basso: – Our soul waiteth! (Ps.33:20)
Alto: …it shall rejoice in his salvation (Ps.35:9)
Tenore e Basso: – The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? (Ps.114:4,6)
Alto: – Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. (Ps.33:20)
Tenore: And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. (Luke 10:39)
Soprano: – The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. (Ps.113:4)
Alto: – And my soul… (Ps.35:9)
Tenore: – But Martha was cumbered about much serving… (Luke 10:40)
Alto: – Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield… (Ps.33:20)
Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. (Luke 10:40)
Tenore: And Jesus answered and said unto her:
Basso: – Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful.

Basso: – And Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. (Luke 10:42)
