A luxurious Mk1 Ford Fiesta 1300 Ghia with just 53,542 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Tinted glass with tinted gradient band windscreen (laminated), tilting removable screened glass sunroof, bodyside moulding and tapestripe, remote control driver’s door mirror, passenger door mirror, digital header mounted clock, front seat head restraints, removable head restraint pads, Ford push-button radio stereo cassette RST 21P, electrically operated aerial, opening front quarter vents. Factory options; Rear seat belts. Dealer options; Ford front carpet mats.

EXTERIOR
This beautiful and rare surviving luxury flagship Fiesta is finished in gleaming Ford Sunburst Red, (Code P 1), and showcases a deep lustrous shine throughout. Close scrutiny will reveal nothing other than light aged related markings including some imperfections to the rear bumper, but overall the very bright appearance should please the blue oval enthusiast. All factory fit panels are straight and front wings have the date stamp and oval Ford emblem stamp clearly visible. The unmolested appeal of this special vehicle is accentuated by standard trim sections and Ghia specific badges and decals all present, correct and in remarkable order.

INTERIOR
The wonderful interior of this remarkable example is in amazing preserved condition and exactly as Ford intended. The sumptuous Chatsworth velour in Mocha, (Code M 6), is beautifully clean and all seats are free from undue wear, rips or discolouration. The matching carpeted door trim sections are in excellent condition as are the carpets and fully intact perforated headlining. All switchgear is fully functional including the heater fan on both settings and the soft finish dashboard with glorious wood effect fascia is free from cracks. The standard Ford P21 push button radio operates perfectly as does the standard Ghia electric aerial. The boot area is very clean and even houses the vinyl sunroof storage bag! The upholstered parcel shelf has a slight bow, is uncut and complete with the correct cord hangers.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The time proven transverse mounted 1300 OHV engine produces a spritely 66BHP which in such a lightweight and nimble car offers lively performance whilst returning a frugal 44.1MPG. The engine is wonderfully quiet and smooth, the completely standard engine bay is very clean with factory plates and Motorcraft hoses, clips and service items intact. The standard specification automatic choke is present and correct and operates perfectly. The four-speed synchromesh gearbox with remote shift and self-adjusting clutch is light and exact.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Five factory fitted alloy road wheels are in excellent condition. Four matching and correctly sized for the Ghia model 155/80 R12 tyres have been fitted brand new in October 2022 being very difficult to source. The spare wheel sits in the lower luggage area alongside the original jack and even the vinyl sunroof storage bag! The dual line servo assisted brakes with 8.7” front discs and 7.0” rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
This delightful example was registered new on 17th August 1983 by Ford Main Dealer, Bristol Street Motors and was one of the very last Mk1 Fiesta’s before the introduction of the Mk2 variant which went on sale the very same month. The car has covered just 53,542 miles from new with only three owners. Correspondence in the history file explains the car being owned by Mrs Hartshorne followed by her husband before being sold to Mr Simpson in 2008 who has owned it ever since.

The history file consists of the original Bristol Street Motors document wallet holding all handbooks, guides, dealership point of sale literature and the service book containing 14 stamped entries. Since Mr Simpson took ownership in 2008 the car has been annually serviced each year without fail by the same garage with the most recent service in December 2022 with less than 250 miles covered since. In October 2022 the car was subject to a full brake inspection and overhaul including brake fluid change. A brand-new fitted radiator and coolant flush has also been carried in October 2022. A large folder of service and maintenance invoices as well as previous MOT certificates complete the history file along with two sets of keys and an original 1983 Ford range brochure.
