Multi-Track Recording With GarageBand

Описание к видео Multi-Track Recording With GarageBand

Hey guys, today we are going to look at multi-track recording, and how to record more than one track at once with GarageBand. To do this we’ll need to open up an empty project, GarageBand can record as many tracks simultaneously as your interface can allow. So if you’re using a USB device it will just be whatever's going through your usb, but if you are using an external interface it will be whatever's allowable by your interface.

So in my case, I’m using an m-box 2 mini, thats got two inputs so that what I’ll be limited to. In this case i'm going to set it up as a vocal and a guitar thing, through my m-box mini and we’ll set it up like that. I’ll just make sure my input device is correct, all good. Track one will be the vocals and that is selected on the interface, that’s good, create that, we’ll make that a vocal track, just double check that that is the input that I want, perfect.

Then we’ll add a new track, this will be a guitar track, recorded from Input two on my interface, i might set it up as an acoustic guitar, beautiful.

The trick to being able to record two tracks at once is is to right click on the tracks here, select ‘Track Header Components’, and select ‘Record Enable’ that brings up an extra button here on the track header, the little red record button, so whichever tracks you have that clicked for will record, so that one’s ready, and click that, now they’re both ready to record.

So now, assuming I had instruments plugged in which I don’t, and i hit record, it will now record both of those tracks at once.

And that’s how you record two tracks at once, also known as multi-track recording, with GarageBand.

I hope that was helpful for you.
