ContraFuerte art installation in Philadelphia - You Oughta Know (2022)

Spanning over Cuthbert Street in Philadelphia, ContraFuerte, by artist Miguel Antonio Horn, features four aluminum figures on either side of a bridge. WHYY’s arts and culture reporter Peter Crimmins tells the story of this public sculpture that turned a dingy Philadelphia alley into a destination for great art. The figures appear to be supporting one another as they collectively lift the bridge. Find out what it means, how it was made, and how it’s sparked international interest.
