Fabulous Big-Leaf Philodendrons That Do Well in Low-Light ~ Black Gold and Sodiroi

Описание к видео Fabulous Big-Leaf Philodendrons That Do Well in Low-Light ~ Black Gold and Sodiroi

In this video, Logee's horticulturist and third generation owner, Byron Martin, discusses two of the more popular varieties of philodendrons: the Black Gold Philodendron (Philodendron melanochrysum) and Philodendron Sodiroi. Byron discusses the juvenile and mature leaf and growth stages of these philodendrons, including best care practices, how to fertilize, prune and propagate.

Both of these fast-growing plants are climbers and do well in low-light. Black Gold is a spectacular vining philodendron that when mature produces 2’ long leaves of iridescent black-green with pale green veins. Sodiroi is a rare, fast-growing climber native to French Guiana, and is best known for its large, heart-shaped leaves with silver colored patterns.
