Being able to ice skate out on an open frozen lake is something else! Growing up in Washington, the only place I could ice skate is indoor in a controlled climate. After moving to Alaska and being able to ice skate out on the lake and go as fast as you can is truly something special. I wanted to bring the family to Alaska for them to experience the true outdoors and they fell in love with it.
The video is based in Wasilla, Alaska, on Wasilla Lake near downtown.
