Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire, did not engage extensively in monumental architectural projects. His rule from 1526 to 1530 was marked more by military conquests and political consolidation. The grand architectural legacy associated with the Mughal era primarily began with his successors. However, the construction of the Babri Mosque (Babur Mosque) and the establishment of gardens in Kabul provide some insights into the architectural developments during his time:

Babri Mosque (Babur Mosque):

Timeline: The Babri Mosque is believed to have been constructed during Babur's reign. It is often associated with the early 16th century, specifically around 1528-1529. Some sources suggest that it was built on the site of a pre-existing structure.
Features: The original structure is said to have been a simple mosque with three domes. The architectural style was likely influenced by Timurid and Central Asian design elements. However, the mosque underwent modifications and expansions in the subsequent centuries, and the disputed site became a subject of historical and political controversy.
Gardens in Kabul (Bagh-e Babur):

Timeline: Babur established the Bagh-e Babur, or Babur's Gardens, in Kabul after his victory in the Battle of Panipat in 1526. The initial construction likely occurred in the early 16th century.
Features: The gardens were designed following the principles of traditional Persian gardens. They featured terraced levels, flowing water channels, pavilions, and a variety of plants and trees.
