It might sound dramatic, but living with Thyroid Eye Disease has felt like a battle I never saw coming. When the doctors said there’s a chance I might get a rare disease, I said nahhh it won’t be me. And I was so wrong.

It’s not just about how my eyes look, it’s the constant tearing, redness, pressure, headaches, bulging, sensitivity, burning, itching, the way my vision shifts and blurs, making everyday tasks feel like a struggle.

It’s the isolation of having a disease that most people don’t understand, even doctors.

TED isn’t just a cosmetic issue. It’s pain. Physical and emotional. Its insecurity. It’s fatigue. It’s the fear of waking up and wondering if my eyes will get worse. It’s learning to grieve the way I used to look, while also trying to embrace the person I am now.

Thankfully I’ve come a long way in my journey and at this point I rarely experience those symptoms anymore due to massive changes I made in my lifestyle, nutrition, and supplement regimen. 🙏
