Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition - Civil Discord (Fight Scene)

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition is a game that ends when you begin to like it. The engine is not so clever, the open world has borders that won't let you explore neither the buildings or the islands, the dynamics of swimming sucks, and the sounds are mostly horrible.

The only good thing about this game are the fights and the Bruce Lee alike character appearance. But no game will feel and allow so many various things like the old GTA V. There is no comparison that can be made between GTA and any other open world game. The Rockstar Games engine is unique, user friendly, with well-adjusted camera angles while driving, exploring and during police chases.

Sleeping Dogs is a game that I won't replay. It smells and feels like plastic, lot of pixeled repetitive bitmap images and annoying speech patterns, the driving camera destroys the game experience as well as walking or running on the streets. I will always prefer GTA IV instead of Sleeping Dogs. It's a shame that they didn't improve the game quality even at 2 years after the initial release. There are very few buildings that can be accessed and that's a shame, because the game is so well built speaking about the main character's skills of free running, jumping, fighting with bare hands or with various weapons. The boat driving dynamics, the way you enter and exit the boat, in water movement are a total mess.

The story is good, but don't let you immerse in the feeling of free-will by accessing parts of it in the future (like occasionally interacting with characters, find alternative solutions to missions, resume the game from the exact point where you saved it). The game has potential, but it's a long way until it will attract me as much as GTA series, even after finishing all the missions.
