Using whatever weapons they could lay their hands on from golf clubs, shotguns, pikes and shovels. Often known by locals as "Look, Duck and Vanish". How the Home Guard developed from a make shift militia in a well trained army preparing to counter attack and defend BLIGHTY from imminent German invasion.

We cook corned beef fritters, a staple back in 1940 when rations were sparce.
