Classic TV Theme: Supercarrier (two versions)

Описание к видео Classic TV Theme: Supercarrier (two versions)

This late 1980s entry into the realm of military series got off to a rocky start. Based on the first episode the Navy pulled its cooperation, banning the production crew from filming on the USS Vandegrift effective immediately. They needn't have bothered; 'Murder, She Wrote' and 'Family Ties' sent the show to the bottom in just eight weeks' time. It's not often that a show with so short a run had two different themes, but 'Supercarrier' did. Theme 1 is first heard in the pilot episode, and it carried over into the series proper. It's by Bill Conti and has a bit of the 'Gonna Fly Now' feel to it, adding in a screaming trumpet line played by jazz legend Maynard Ferguson. It was quickly pulled and replaced with a vocal: 'Living on the Edge' by Craig Safan and Mark Mueller. Both versions included here.
