CLEANING OUT THE CHICKEN COOP | PLANTING HYDRANGEAS | CUTTING WOOD AND GARDENING

We FINALLY cut back all of the brush and overgrown trees around the chicken coops and horse shelter. We had a LOT of property landscaping and maintenance to deal with. Living on a huge piece of land like we are is not for the weak! LOTS of blood, sweat, and tears!!

Hey there! We're Mike and Susan, and we're knee-deep in turning this charming little country house into our dream home. It's an exciting time for us as we're gearing up for an empty nest - yep, our only kiddo, Brad, is spreading his wings and heading off to college soon. But as one bird flies out, another comes home to roost; Mike’s dad is going to move in with us, and we couldn't be happier to have him join this adventure we're on.

We're not just stopping at fixing up the house; oh no, we've got big plans! Picture this: a bunch of horses galloping around, geese waddling, chickens pecking away, and of course, dogs - because what’s a home without the pitter-patter of furry feet? Moving from a different part of Florida to the countryside is a pretty big change for us city slickers. But hey, we're all in. We're really looking forward to slowing down a notch or two, getting our hands dirty in the garden, and figuring out this whole self-sufficiency thing.
