20 Years, No Progress, The Nkari Dam Story

This documentary, produced by BudgIT with the support of OXFAM under the Fair For All project, sheds light on the longstanding neglect of the Nkari Dam in Ini Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Despite its potential to transform the region's agriculture, energy production, and flood regulation, the dam, initiated by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in 2001, has remained incomplete for over two decades.

BudgIT, through its service delivery arm Tracka, has actively engaged in community sensitization and stakeholder engagement to address the situation. However, progress has been minimal, and the documentary calls for immediate government action to complete the Nkari Dam and fulfil the promises made to the Nkari people.
