Описание к видео Male Reproductive System of Rabbit | Chap # 14 | Biology Class 10| Lec # 12 ( PTB)

The male reproductive system is a complex set of organs and structures responsible for producing, storing, and delivering sperm—the male reproductive cells—and facilitating their transport to the female reproductive system for the purpose of fertilization. The main components of the male reproductive system include:

Testes: These are the primary male reproductive organs responsible for producing sperm and testosterone, a hormone that plays a crucial role in the development of male secondary sexual characteristics.

Epididymis: This is a coiled tube located on the back of each testis. It serves as a storage and maturation site for sperm. Sperm produced in the testes undergo a process of maturation and gain the ability to swim in the epididymis.

Vas Deferens: Also known as the ductus deferens, this is a long tube that carries mature sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct. It plays a key role in transporting sperm during ejaculation.

Ejaculatory Duct: These are short ducts formed by the union of the vas deferens and the seminal vesicles. They transport sperm and fluids from the vas deferens to the urethra just before ejaculation.

Urethra: The urethra is a tube that runs through the penis and serves as a passage for both urine and semen. During ejaculation, semen is expelled through the urethra.

Seminal Vesicles: These are glands located behind the bladder that produce a significant portion of the seminal fluid. This fluid contains nutrients and substances that provide energy for sperm, as well as chemicals that help the sperm survive and function.

Prostate Gland: Positioned just below the bladder, the prostate gland produces a milky fluid that contributes to semen. This fluid contains enzymes that aid in liquefying semen after ejaculation.

Bulbourethral Glands (Cowper's Glands): These small glands are located below the prostate and release a clear, slippery fluid that helps lubricate the urethra and neutralize any traces of acidic urine that might be present.

Penis: The penis serves as both the male organ of copulation and the conduit for the passage of urine and semen. During sexual arousal, the penis becomes erect, allowing for penetration during sexual intercourse.

Scrotum: This is the external pouch of skin that contains the testes. The scrotum helps regulate the temperature of the testes to maintain optimal conditions for sperm production.

The male reproductive system functions through a complex interplay of hormones, nerves, and physiological processes. The goal of this system is to produce healthy and motile sperm, deliver them to the female reproductive system during sexual intercourse, and facilitate fertilization of the female's egg, leading to the creation of a new individual.
