Knollwood Country Club: Part One

Описание к видео Knollwood Country Club: Part One

Tucked away among the hills bordering the San Fernando Valley, Knollwood may be one of the clearest examples I've found of a "hidden gem." Built in 1956 by William F. Bell, it was originally intended to be a home course for Sammy Davis Jr., before he was finally admitted into Los Angele's higher end clubs. The course transformed to a public municipal course shortly after, and ever since, has been a favorite among golfers in the area, as the conditions are still well maintained, and the architecture speaks for itself.

I was pleasantly surprised by this course, it presents its personality to you right from the first tee. Elevation changes, rolling fairways that require multiple shot shapes, and small, but undulating greens. The company was as good as the course on this day, and I only hope the rest of my rounds at new courses this year are as entertaining or as interesting as this was.
