Penny Lane Cover

This video has been in progress for several months through many a personal disaster, and I'm happy to report that those disasters have been mostly solved. Big thanks to Ryan Ewart for helping me shoot several performances, and an exponentially greater thanks to Ryan for editing the video.

I'm leaving today to shoot a movie in Austin for the next month, but there are a few more coming after I get back home. Hopefully I can make this a regular occurrence.

Notes for sticklers- the Rode NT1A I'm using is 15 years old, and I had to take it apart to clean and repair. I'm not singing into the wrong side of the mic, I just put it back together backwards. I had to sing into the wrong side to figure that out, and then reshoot the lead vocals. I was too lazy to fix it, but I since have.

All performances are taken live during tracking which I find tedious and might not always be able to do, but so far I've been able to manage it.

I also mastered this using Ozone with the original song as a template. My mix and master game is way out of shape, but I'm hoping to rediscover my interest in the minutia. The end goal of this channel has always been to find my way back to writing, then use the skills I pick up producing covers to create videos for my original songs.

I attempted to shoot BTS of the entire process, and that pile of footage hurts to look at. Let me know in the comments if you're curious about anything in particular and help bait me into editing into something watchable. Otherwise, enjoy!
