About 2 days before the urine drinking stage.

Sailwind is a game with realistic sailing and realistic navigation, including navigating by stars (although the stars on this world are different.) There is latitude and longitude to consider, and this world has a Prime Meridian at Aestrin like our Greenwich Meridian. There are also survival aspects, you have to stay fed and stay hydrated and sleep regularly or disastrous consequences will ensue.

Before this playthrough started, I started a playthrough in which I gave myself lots of money (by editing the save) just because I wanted to learn the navigation and sailing and everything and didn't want to have to worry about the money grubbing. I had a Sanbuq and crossed the open ocean to a distant land.

This time around, it is all about the money grubbing, so no free rides. I am going to do missions to build up my money and my reputation so that I can one day buy a Sanbuq and do heavy cargo hauling, maybe cross the ocean again (that was fun, and a bit harrowing. Lots of storms.)

There is no interpersonal violence in this game and don't expect constant excitement. If on the other hand you are okay with just hanging with me and listening to me ramble as I slowly spiral into sun-baked madness, climb aboard.
