WE SKATED ON A FROZEN LAKE IN ALASKA!! | Rabbit Lake

One of the coolest experiences we have had here in Alaska. This opportunity does not come around often. The Lake up at Rabbit Lake was frozen before the snow hit. Most of the time before it freezes the snow is already there. So this gave us the perfect opportunity to go out and skate the most perfect wild ice.
It was about a 9 mile round trip hike. It is not difficult and only a few areas do you hike a decent incline. The rest is a pretty steady incline on a groomed trail. Lot's of people love to ride their bikes on this trail.
We hiked this at the end of October in 2023. A late start to winter here in Alaska.
We saw quite a few moose along our way and that was a fun surprise. We also dealt with a lot of wind and it made for one cold day. But that didn't stop us from having the best time! The lake is huge so even though it was a busy day we didn't notice.
If you ever get an opportunity to skate this lake you have to do it!!
