Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 Unboxing, Comparison and AIC Simple Install on Gigabyte TRX40 Designare

This is our 2nd Video installing a Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Card / AIC Hardware Unboxed. Our 1st Titan Ridge install was with the Gigabyte X399 Aorus Extreme Motherboard. That Motherboard had the THB_C Header but no Bios support. And it worked. For the most part. And to this day, still no Bios support! However, this time around, we have both Motherboard support and Bios support. And it works!

The Thunderbolt Control Panel is different! The Thunderbolt Control Panel no longer shows up as a Notification icon on the Task Bar. Instead, the Thunderbolt Control Panel launches as an Application which can be pinned to the Task Bar. Otherwise, the Thunderbolt Control Panel launches upon Device Enumeration.

This was suppose to be the first install of two, for the Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 after the Comparison and AIC Simple Install on Gigabyte TRX40 Designare. While trying to install the 2nd Retail Boxed Titan Ridge AIC along with the Titan Ridge included with the Motherboard, the Computer would not Boot! Bummer! Big time!

We're working on a follow up Video to detail the problem. What happened, why it happened, how we resolved the problem. Suffice to say, the two Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 AICs are NOT the same! So far, only one can be installed.

And while working through the problems this created, we discovered two other potential problems. Those too will each have a follow up video. You will want to watch both of those Videos!

We learn by doing. And when we have problems, that's when we discover new solutions. Methodically.

This experience is a 1 hour synopsis of 7 1/2 hours of Filming, followed up the next day with 4 hours of Filming in diagnosing and solving two problems encountered while trying to install two Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 AICs. And if You're wondering, can I install Thunderbolt 3 on a TRXX40 Motherboard that does not have the THB_C Header? We don't know yet. Our next Video may help to answer that question, of what and what to expect. Stay tuned! You will NOT have Bios support! Without Bios Support, No Memory Allocation for Thunderbolt Devices.

Furthermore, the 5 Pin Thunderbolt THB_C Header can be interchanged with the 10 Pin Thunderbolt THB_C Header by way of a Conversion cable. However, the 14-1 Pin Thunderbolt Header utilizes a vastly different Driver model!
