Michael Burry filed Scion Capital's 13-F form with the SEC recently.
The Big Short investor's filing is avaliable publically, and shows all companies Burry has positions in within the United States. Today's video is Part 2 in this series. As mentioned previously overseas holdings and certain instruments are excluded. Michael has taken out call options in a number of companies. There's no additional detail about the precise price at which he would purchase these stocks.


Companies Burry has reduced his positions in include Gamestop - he has sold over a million shares in this company and presumably taken profits due to the share price uplift. Nevertheless he still holds 1.7million shares in Gamestop stop so arguably sees value into the holiday season from consol sales and beyond.


Kimball is a furniture retailer which specialises in supplying retail and healthcare destinations. Since this division of the business separated from the Electronics part of the Kimball Business in 2014, the sector has performed well. Like Allstate Insurance, it appears to be underappreciatd by the market in spite of robust cash flows and returns to shareholders.


Precision Drilling operates oil rigs in Canada, America, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. This activity has suffered during the pandemic due to subdued demand, but retains a reasonably strong hold on the market. Whether or not its long term picture is rosy remains unclear, however it is thought that oil drilling will pick up in Q4 of 2020 and into 2021 and beyond, all of which could lead to continuing upside for investors in the wake of PDS's recent stock split.


Western Digital supplies hard drives and external memory for computers among other storage and products. This is a company that Burry has 250'000 shares in and which has oscillated in price between 35 dollars and 100 dollars since 2013. The company abandoned its dividend in 2020, which may disincentivise certain investors. However, often Burry doubles down on companies who get ris of their dividends, as it leaves more cash on the table for them to sustain their operations - by buying back shares, restructuring, investing in research and development, and more.


Hopefull this video offers a little more information about how Burry chooses which companies to invest in. It's tricky trying to read the mind of any investor, especially someone whose privacy is so fiercely guarded, but perhaps this video lifts the lid on some of the thinking processes Burry is adopting behind the curtain.
