Nanda Devi and Panchchuli: Munar to Munsiyari Trek

A trek through the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India: 12-28/10/19. After an overnight train ride from Delhi to Kathgodam we had a two day road trip to start the trek at Munar. Our trek to Munsiyari took us from village to village and over several minor passes. There were beautiful views of snow capped mountain ranges, with the most impressive being India's second highest mountain Nanda Devi and the five towering peaks of Panchchuli. Between the mountains there were glimpses of the local people, the animals and the wild flowers.

The Kumaon and its gentle and spiritual people have a special place in my heart from my many past trips visiting ashrams in the area at Haidakhan and Chiliyanaula. I hope that this video has done it justice.
