Earthbound vs. Mother 3 - The Fake Sequelitis returns yet again!

This has been in the making for some time now, in no small part thanks to me making revisions to the script up to the last minute. Even now, I'm sure there will be things I think of in the coming days that I wish I had elaborated on or explained better, but I'm already pushing it with the half hour length on this one. I was a bit lighter on editing in the interest of saving time.

The last 9-10 minutes or so may hit a nerve with some EB fans, and I do understand if I lose a few of you there. That entire section was going to be a part of a completely different video, as I will explain at the very end. I've had a very strange life experience when it comes to weather-related things in general, including an ailment that even today, no doctor has been able to identify. It is triggered by hot weather, which is why I have always been more fond of cool weather, but it generates some possibly misdirected sympathy toward the characters in my case that I'm guessing a "normal" person wouldn't have so much. As a result, I may get a little unnecessarily hostile.

One thing that I wasn't sure how to deal with was the whole Scaraba issue. For the longest time, I remembered the strategy guide's listed temperature for the city as 120 degrees in the shade, and wrote most of my argument around that assumption. It wasn't until I screenshotted the actual pages of the guide that I saw the temp was 140, which not only makes me feel even more strongly (hence worse) about the entire situation, but also slightly dampers my point about how they should have "exaggerated" it more. A lot of people would probably say 140 degrees is exaggeration enough, and they're probably right. It also doesn't help that upon researching the hottest recorded temperature on Earth, it turns out to be in the 130's. I honestly thought the highest was over 150, just shows what I know, which isn't jack really now, is it?

I feel like there is so much more I could have said about Earthbound's brilliant humor, or the fact that people still find new things in it all the time even now, two and a half decades after its release. A lot of it would have been pretty superfluous, but some might say you could say the same for a lot of what I did end up saying here. I don't know.

Either way, it's two great games and not as easy of a pick as I might have made it sound by the end. Thanks as always to everyone for sticking around and watching my ridiculous rants!
