The Lodge was built in 1888 by Lord and Lady Daresbury. Originally used as a hunting and shooting lodge and was sold and lived in by many different families over the years. Current owner decided it would be a fantastic and beautiful wedding venue. Victorian style exterior and many traditional features within, such as fireplaces, staircases, flooring and the tall ceilings.

In Jan 2020 the local news reports were thus. Jan 2020 firefighters were called to reports of a fire.
The fire was later said to be caused by an electrical fault but the venue never reopened.
