SEAMLESS REPEAT PATTERN - Create By Hand!

How do you make a repeating pattern by hand? It's not as hard as you think! To make a pattern by hand, watch this video - I'll show you how to plan out your repeat pattern by drawing the middle of your design first and cutting your paper into quadrants.

I recommend using a square piece of paper for your surface pattern design - it's easier to put into repeat that way. You can use these repeat pattern techniques with any traditional medium! Whether it's acrylic paint, watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, oil pastels, or charcoal like I'm using here, you can repeat this process over and over again - The old fashioned way!
