*Why Towers Create Lines of Vision*

Throughout the game, Towers are a place of nearly infinite safety. And so being close to them allows you to make riskier plays because you can get back to a safe place relatively quickly.

When a tower falls, the middle of the lane shifts, the lane becomes longer and the area you could comfortably call safe gets stretched out. And this gives whoever’s taken the turret a massive advantage.

Because the middle of the lane has moved up, they can now hit the enemy minion wave sooner, whereas their opponent has to wait. So instead of both you and your laner taking the wave simultaneously, you take it sequentially. One after the other.

That basically means when you’re taking the wave, they can’t walk up very far. But when they’re taking the wave, you can place vision further up than you could before.

Or alternatively, if the enemy wants to clear the wave at the same time as you, they physically have to walk further from their turret, to a more risky position, to do so.

Either way you have more control over that area by default.
