Gaia's kittens are getting cuter and cuter by the day! They continue to play more and more each day and even had their first introduction to the dogs. We also closed our applications for this litter and had nearly 50 applications. The kittens also got their photos and videos taken so we can keep the future owners up to date personally with the kittens development. Their eyes continue to change as well and we can't wait to see what color they turn.

The kittens continue to rough house with each other, which is important for their socialization. If they don't get this vital playtime with their litter mates, it can lead to behavioral issues down the road. Sometimes it may seem like they're playing too rough, but it's good for them. We have also been introducing them to new toys to play with. It's always important to supervise playtime with toys just in case any little bits and pieces fall off. Last thing you want is a kitten with an obstruction from something that is supposed to be fun.

We got a lot of applications for the kittens and we have already pretty much solidified where the kittens will be going. If you weren't chosen to move on to the next step in the process, there will be another round April 4 for Thea's litter and April 18 for Chessie's litter. It's important we go by our wait list. Any breeder who does not have a wait list gives off red flag vibes.

One of the things we try to do for those who are acquiring a kitten from us is to take photos and videos weekly or bi-weekly and send them to them. It helps keep a strong foundation and a good relationship throughout the process. Although we do post weekly updates here on YouTube, we like to send personalized, high-quality photos and videos to each future family.

The kittens eyes are also starting to warm up in color. They have moved from their colorless-gray to a warmer tint. Now the question is, are they going to be gold or green. Remember, any Maine Coons that has blue eyes and is not white or bicolor with enough white has been bred unethically. Dominant blue eyes in Maine Coons is not a naturally occurring event unless it's in white cats. It is an ongoing controversial topic and groups within the cat fancy community have held motions to potentially ban dominant blue eyed Maine Coons from cat shows as it goes against the breed standard and encourages unethical breeding.

The next step is to hold video calls with potential new owners and continually send them updates. We will also be taking the kittens to their initial checkup next Wednesday.
