Juniors Debate | Western Region Debate Competition 2022-23

“If freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”

IISJ orchestrated the paramount Cluster meet, Western Region Debate 2022-23 on 15 November 2022. The event was established with the Holy verses of the Quran and its translation by Master Abdul Raheem and Master Mohsin Saiyad respectively. Subsequently a gladsome welcome speech was delivered by Syeda Alisha Sharyar, Literary secretary, welcoming the buoyant gathering.

Henceforth began the junior’s debate on the topic “Digital gaming makes us smarter and provides cognitive benefits..” The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, ideas and perspectives that definitely enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the topic among students, which was followed by an impassioned rebuttal where each contestant counter argued their opponent ostentatiously.

Subsequently, the panel of jury was invited upon the stage where each of them laid special emphasis on certain aspects expected from a successful public speaker.

The event wouldn't have been a success without the vivacious announcers', Sawsan Jeelani and Rehab.

The 1st ,2nd and 3rd best speaker from the for team were bagged by DPS, IISJ and of Radhwa International School, Yanbu respectively. Whereas The 1st, 2nd and 3rd best speaker from the against team were bagged by IISJ, DPS and New AlWurood Int. School, Jeddah of respectively, this was followed by the announcement of the School Teams that won 1st ,2nd and 3rd positions which were DPS, IISJ and New AlWurood Int. School respectively.
