Using clothes in OBJ format in Unreal Engine without skinning - Part 1 (Marvelous Designer/Clo)

Описание к видео Using clothes in OBJ format in Unreal Engine without skinning - Part 1 (Marvelous Designer/Clo)

In this video we show how to import "ready-to-wear" clothes in OBJ format into Unreal Engine using uDraper (https://udraper.com) without manual skinning but applying an automatic wrapping so the clothes can be animated with an avatar but without cloth simulation. This approach can be useful for the clothes that don’t require significant movements and when the cloth distortions can be neglected during the animation.
In principle, it can be used with any OBJ file, but different programs may export OBJ files a bit differently so, this is still an experimental feature, and you may face issues when importing some OBJ files. In this tutorial, we start with OBJ files exported from Clo or Marvelous Designer pre-fitted on a Metahuman avatar.
