[Ep. 1065] Take a real-time ride along the Velostrada, a 9.6 km high-quality cycling route connecting The Hague and Leiden in South Holland, the Netherlands. This route is part of the regional network of fast cycling connections and is used by commuters and recreational cyclists alike.
Filmed in May 2025 from the handlebars, this video gives a direct and unedited view of the full ride, showing the cycling infrastructure, surroundings, tunnels, crossings, and shared-space sections.
The Velostrada is designed to offer a comfortable and direct alternative to car travel on the A4 and A44. Although not a perfect cycling motorway, it provides a good link between cities and has been improved over time — with more upgrades still planned.
