Fertigation is the term used to describe the application of fertilizers or other nutrients to plants via the irrigation network. On our farm, we use a venturi injector, a device that allows the nutritious inputs (which have been dissolved into water) to mix into the irrigation supply and then be delivered to the plants. The mixture than be absorbed directly by plants when they uptake water.

This video summaries our journey from a time when all our liquid fertilizers were applied via foliar sprays to our introduction our first, simple fertigation system at Riverside 1, which is shown in action.
We also break down the advantages of using a venturi injector to take our fertiliser right where we want it to go.
