In April 1945, George S. Patton decided that denial would no longer be possible.

On April 16, 1945, American forces rounded up nearly 1,000 of Weimar’s most prominent citizens — bankers, judges, professors, doctors, and their families. Dressed in fine coats and escorted by armed soldiers, they were marched up Ettersberg Hill and forced to walk through Buchenwald itself.

What followed was not punishment, but confrontation.

This documentary examines the moment when respected civilians were made to see — with their own eyes — what existed beside their city. Corpses. Starvation. Evidence collected and preserved so no one could claim ignorance again.

It is a story about denial, responsibility, and why the Allies believed witnessing was as important as liberation.
