Do You Have Some Overgrown Yews Or Other Shrubs To Prune?

This client is hesitant to do anything too dramatic to these all at once. This is understandable. He said he gets out there TWICE a year to trim these things. Once this is taken care of, however long it takes to get these to a more manageable size, they can basically be left alone, with some minimal routine hand pruning to keep them in check. I suspect this is less maintenance. Nothing wrong with electric hedge trimmers if you want to use them but don’t forget to cut in the windows so the light can get in.🪟

If anyone who has this type of situation at their house is considering removing everything and starting again, be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars—first on removal and then on replacement with all new plants. Might as well use what you have because if they are healthy they will bounce back.

This video was done yesterday and now is a great time to prune yews. Pretty much ANY time is a great time to prune these things because they are practically indestructible. Have fun out there!😁✂️👩‍🌾
