(1) In the Bible we are told of the first ones who sinned.
And God made coats of skin for them.
And some say t'was a lamb that God did slay.
And the price for sin was on that blood soaked ground.

(C) Oh a message unto you we bring.
Over valleys and hills it rings.
Christ has died upon that old rugged tree.
And from Him came the blood that we might be free.

(2) In the Bible we are told Able brought God a lamb.
His brother Cain brought God works that were in vain.
And when Cain talked with God this is what God had said.
There's a voice that cries out from the blood-soaked ground.

(3) In the Bible we are told of a lamb that was slain.
For the sin debt was great man could not repay.
And this was the price for sin they were told.
And the proof it was paid was on that blood-soaked ground.

(4) In the Bible we are told of a lamb that was slain.
For the sin of the world a Saviour came.
On the tree was He hung for you and for me.
The blood that soaked the ground came from mount Calvary.

(5) In the history books we're told of the faithful who had died.
At the stake they were burned and this was their cry.
I will not recant, I will not repent.
And their voices cry out from the blood-soaked ground.

Who are Martyred each day, like Christians of old.
They do not recant, they do not repent.
And their voice's cry out from that blood-soaked ground.
