Film critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert interview four filmmakers about the state of African-American filmmaking in this 1992 TV special. Topics include recent successes in black cinema, as well as challenges still facing black filmmakers. At the time of this interview, films by Spike Lee, John Singleton, Matty Rich and others were gaining prominence. Their early successes were often called the "new black cinema" or "black new wave" of the early 90s.
